Our restaurant is named after Vittoria.
Albano, many years ago, was a small town, near and in the same time far away
from Rome.Vittoria’s parents were peasants and she also cultivated the land, her
charming and enigmatic face illuminated by the sun. The special charm of this
girl has made her famous, inspiring artists, painters and historians. In this
way the woman from Albano became point of reference of a certain artistic
creativity, beyond the barriers of space and time, reaching with the memory up
to us, - we don’t stop to admire her pictures and to celebrate her personality
according to our possibilities. Aldo Onorati

With the changing of the seasons, our kitchen offers a good menu à la carte and in the meantime makes us live again the moments of gastronomic history of the Roman Castles, but it also prepares custom menus for celebrating special events and banquets.
The wine list is updated every month in order to choose the best regional and national wines.
If requested it will be possible to organize for a group of people a visit in some of the wine cellars of the Roman Castles to show them the wine-making process and for a wine tasting.
In summer time the garden becomes the preferred place for the guests who like to take their lunch and dinner in the “open air”.
Menù The winter menu is
rich in local cured meats but it offers also specialties from the region Abruzzo
and from Siena, the famous “Culatello” and a selection of D.O.P. quality
cheese., the soup of chick-peas and salt cod, spelt soup with wild mushrooms,
Ravioli filled with ricotta (fresh cheese) with sausage and saffron from Navelli,
tagliolini (thin long pasta) with black truffle sauce from Norcia and our
traditional first dishes.
Lamb chops with fried artichokes, the
“coda alla vaccinara”, “trippa alla romana” and the “maialino porchettato” are
only some of the tipical local main courses.
But the fish is not missing our table ,
especially in the summer menus: monk fish, tuna fish, anchovies, clams, lobster.
Wild mushrooms, Galletti mushrooms,
caesar’s fungus are always present on our tables, but there is also place for
the “mozzarella di bufala” from Campania with rocket and pachino tomatoes.
The strawberries from Nemi, the wild
berries and the sweets prepared by our pastry-staff, are the right way to finish
the meal in sweetness.
The bar is a meeting point for an
aperitif, a tea and for other pleasant occasions. Excellent is the selection of
sparkling wines that we propose.
